Part of life is finding ourselves in
The Unknown
Sometimes it arrives through a decision that needs to be made. Sometimes through a life transition, a relationship, a health challenge, a career change, or simply a feeling that something is shifting.
At other times, there is simply a sensing of a shift within and a curiosity about what is emerging.Over the years, I have often turned to the I Ching during times when life felt uncertain, and have found it to be a valuable companion for reflection and perspective.
An I Ching Perspective Session offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and see your situation from a wider view.
You don’t need to know anything about the I Ching. Curiosity and an openness to the experience are enough.
What is the I Ching?
The I Ching, also known as The Book of Changes, is one of the world’s oldest wisdom traditions. For more than 3,000 years, people have turned to it for reflection and perspective during times of uncertainty and change. At its heart, the I Ching is concerned with change and how we respond to it.
Rather than offering predictions or fixed answers, the I Ching invites reflection and presents a different way of viewing a situation.
For many people, that shift in perspective can be incredibly valuable.Reflection, Perspective and Insight
Sometimes a reading may help you recognise something you already sensed but had not fully acknowledged.
At other times it may offer an insight you had not previously considered.
The I Ching invites us to step back and see our situation from a wider view.
Many people leave a session with something meaningful to sit with. A theme, an insight, a question, or a fresh way of looking at what is unfolding in their lives.Synchronicity and Paying Attention
Psychiatrist Carl Jung studied the I Ching for many years and was particularly interested in its connection to synchronicity, the experience that what we need to understand often appears when we are open and paying attention. That has certainly been my experience and one of the reasons I continue to value this work.
Many of us have experienced moments when the right conversation, book, person, or idea appeared at exactly the right time. The I Ching invites us into that same spirit of curiosity and attention.Even modern science increasingly points to a world that is far more interconnected and dynamic than we once believed. The I Ching reminds us that life is constantly moving. By slowing down and paying attention, we may begin to notice possibilities, connections, and perspectives that were not obvious before.
Why a Guided Session?
The reading belongs to the I Ching.
My role is to guide the process, create a thoughtful and supportive environment, and provide the written reading so you can reflect on it in your own time.A guided session offers dedicated time to pause, explore a question that matters, and engage with the reading in a way that feels meaningful and relevant to your life.
Some people arrive with a specific question. Others arrive with a feeling that something is shifting and want to explore it further. Some insights arrive immediately. Others reveal themselves over time. Many people find value in giving the reading a little time and noticing what unfolds in the days that follow.

My Experience with the I Ching
A few weeks ago, I completed an I Ching reading for myself. The theme that emerged was the need to become more interdependent.
At first, I assumed the reading related to my business.
A few days later, an unexpected accident left me with a fractured patella and dependent on others for many of the things I had always done independently. I could not drive, shop, walk freely, or manage many everyday tasks on my own. What began as a reading about independence became a much deeper reflection on resilience, trust, and my willingness to ask for help.
The reading invited reflection on my independence. Then life presented circumstances that caused me to revisit that theme in a much deeper way.For me, this is part of the value of the I Ching.
It offered a theme for reflection that continued to reveal layers of meaning, not only about the accident itself, but about how I move through life.
